The New York Public Library is launching the nation’s largest Internet lending program, handing out 10,000 free high-speed hot spots to some of the city’s poorest residents.
The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association announced in July that it had completed a home for George Washington’s papers, the Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington.
“We only do well by doing good,” is a statement found on the website of Better World Books, a social enterprise capitalizing on the value of unwanted books to fund literacy goals nationally and around the globe.
