Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, marks the start of the Year of the Sheep according to the traditional Chinese calendar. It is also known as the Year of the Goat, because the root Chinese character for both animals, pronounced “yang,” is the same.
The Chinese New Year begins on Feb. 19th. While welcoming the Year of the Goat, we say good-bye to the Year of the Horse. In the 8th place among the 12 animals, the goat is considered to be the most artistic or creative sign of the Chinese zodiac.
In a village near Izmir, Turkey, a lamb was born with probably the creepiest deformity possible. It had a button nose like a human baby’s, smiling human-like lips, and the facial structure of a human being.
