The company behind the hugely successful “Call of Duty” has struck a $5.9 billion deal to buy the makers of the highly addictive “Candy Crush” and take advantage of the way video games are moving out of living rooms and onto smartphones and tablets.

Microsoft and Major League Gaming are teaming up to host and broadcast the largest Call of Duty Championship event in history. The finals, which are scheduled to take place in March, will be hosted in Los Angeles, CA and carries a grand prize of $1,000,000 to the winning team.
Next week, one of the most popular video game franchises of the past decade will return with its latest entry, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
It’s fair to say that the buzz has died down slightly from the record-breaking days of Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2, but Activision has a great deal of faith in Sledgehammer Games, the recently minted developer which has yet to release a full game.
