NTD’s 8th International Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Competition took place in Waldwick, New Jersey, from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2.
Ninety-one martial artists from 11 countries participated in the competition, with two martial artists receiving gold medals in the male unarmed and male weapons categories.
Traditional Chinese martial arts have been passed down for thousands of years, with an overarching emphasis on the “martial virtue” of the practitioner and the cultivation of moral character as the basis for development and progress, which has been lost in modern mixed martial arts.
Competitors included men and women competing in the categories of Unarmed Hand, Southern Fist, and Weapons.
