When you think of your favorite park, you probably have images of a beautiful summer’s day.

For many, the park is an ideal summertime happy spot –a place to relax, unwind, and spend time with the family.

If you’re looking for a design style that involves the great outdoors, summertime, and lazy days spent in the sun, here’s how you can bring inspiration from the park into your home.

Color Palette

Draw inspiration from your favorite season in the park. For most of us, that would be summer. Look for greens, blues, or earth browns –anything that’s summertime fresh. If fall is your season, you could opt for burnt orange, crimson red, and brown.

Décor

Rustic pieces that draw inspiration from the outdoors would be at home in a park-inspired design scheme. Wrought iron pieces and weathered wood are great choices. You could even bring in an outdoor bench, water fountain, or a decorative concrete statue to finish off the look.

Trees and Grass

Don’t forget the green plants to give your home the fresh feeling of being outdoors. Indoor decorative grass is especially reminiscent of the park. Look for other ways to incorporate plants into your home –for example, look for sculptures or wall art that features leaves or trees.

Finally, when bringing in park-inspired décor, remember to look for pieces that go well with the overall style of your home. While a few pieces of rustic furniture may go well in a country-inspired décor scheme, a modern home may benefit from a piece of art and a sculpture. Keep in mind context, and choose designs that blend well with your home.
