Actress Mena Suvari, known for her breakthrough role in the “American Beauty,” wed record producer Simone Sestito in Italy over the weekend.
The couple got married at a private church in Vatican City on Saturday. They met back in 2007 at the Toronto Film Festival and started dating in 2008.
“The ceremony was truly unique and Mena looked breathtaking,” a wedding guest told People Magazine.
There was a private wedding party for the couple near Vatican City following the wedding ceremony. The newlyweds feel they are a perfect fit for each other. Suvari is 31 and Sestito is 25.
“We just understood each other. She’s very caring and understanding. There was a connection,” Sestito told People.
The pair married in Italy because the location was close to Sestito’s family.
Suvari began her career as a model at the age of 12 and slowly worked her way up the ladder in Hollywood. The actress’ next film will be a comedy titled “You May Not Kiss The Bride.”
