Luscious, vibrant, and exciting –with a very summertime vibe, Hawaiian colors are known for their vibrancy and energy –and are a great way to dress up a boring room, giving it a spectacular summertime twist.
For Hawaiian inspiration, think turquoise, deep blues, and varying shades of green contrasted against a crisp, clean white or natural wood background. Don’t forget to add a twist of lemon, lime, or orange! While these tones are undoubtedly made for summer, they can also work beautifully in the winter, standing in start contrast to the dreary, dark weather outdoors, and transforming your home into a tropical paradise.
Here is how you can draw inspiration from this exciting color palette, and a few ways that you can tastefully use this color scheme to add life and summertime madness to your home.
Determine Your Approach
The first step is to consider the room in question, and to choose an approach that will help to accentuate your room’s very best features, and one that won’t clash with the overall purpose of the room. Which approach would be best for your room? For a kitchen or dining area, starting with a clean –white palette and then adding in splashes of color is often the best approach. While a fun room, like a child’s bedroom, or a living area, may be able to benefit from a more direct infusion of color. It’s all about finding ways to use these colors to make your room attractive and appealing, and keeping in line with its intended purpose.
Accessorize With Bold Colors
Adding in bright pops of color is a great way to make a vibrant color scheme work beautifully with a home. And as a bonus, when you’re ready for a chance, it’s easy to change the look of a room by re-accessorizing. Throw pillows, curtains, artwork –and smaller details like vases, bowls, and sculptures can all help to add an entirely new look to your room.
Consider an Accent Wall
Bring the tropics indoors by painting an accent wall. An accent wall is a great way to make a bold statement without overdoing it.
