On April 11, a man travelling on a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) bus was approached by another man who then stabbed him, the latest of many incidents of TTC violence.
The wound was not fatal and the victim is still in hospital, Toronto Police Service media relations officer Shannon Eames told The Epoch Times via email. She said it’s unknown whether the victim and suspect knew each other. “That is still being investigated at this time.”
The suspect is described as about six feet tall and 18–20 years old. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
Midday Sexual Assault on TTC
On April 11, Toronto police released the images of another man, who is wanted for a sexual assault on a TTC bus that happened on the afternoon of April 5.A 17-year-old woman was assaulted on an eastbound TTC bus she boarded in the Pharmacy Avenue/Lawrence Avenue East area. The man exited in the Markham Road/Lawrence Avenue East area.
Trend of Violence
A TTC report released in February showed 1,068 violent incidents in 2022, up 46 percent from the previous year.On March 25, 16-year-old Gabriel Magalhaes was fatally stabbed at the Keele Street subway station. Toronto Police say the attack was unprovoked.
