The government is facing a revolt from Tory MPs over plans to reform the rental sector despite indefinitely delaying a ban on “no fault” evictions.

In a late-night Commons debate on Monday, a series of Conservative politicians voiced their opposition to the Renters Reform Bill, saying it would add “to the burden of landlords” and further “dry up” the rental sector.
