Those who love watching movies in the holiday season are invited to tune in to a nonstop festive film marathon that starts from Sept. 10.
The Sony Movies Christmas channel will be launched more than 16 weeks before Christmas Eve, showing Britain’s most loved festive season movies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Formerly known as True Christmas, the channel is promised to ensure even the most die-hard Christmas moviegoers have enough programs to keep viewers watching until the end of Jan. 2.
There will be specially themed weekends that cater for Christmas Comedy, Christmas Animals, Santa Sunday, and “Bah Humbug” lovers.
Sony also promises a variety of fresh and never before seen content that is promised to deliver a pleasant surprise while people install their Christmas tree and decorations according to The Sun.
The announcement came as the company announced it would become the United Kingdom’s first free-to-air movie network through combining Sony Movies, Sony Movies Action, and Sony Movies Christmas.
As part of the changes, the Sony-owned True Entertainment will be rebranded as the Sony Channel. Sony Movies Classic will launch in January 2020 according to Digital TV Europe.
The Sony Movies channel will be broadcast on Freesat 303, Freeview 50, Sky 319, and Virgin 424.
“Because really, when isn’t a good time to gift yourself a little festive cheer?” Sony Pictures said.
