Long Beach police Jan. 27 arrested two local teenagers, one aged 15 and the other 16, for the alleged murder of a 20-year-old resident earlier in January.

According to authorities, the minors shot Isaiah Saucedo, killing him Jan. 6 around 8:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of Long Beach Boulevard.

When officers responded, they said they found Saucedo on the ground near a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Attempts to  treat his wounds, they said, were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An initial investigation, police said, determined Saucedo was sitting in the driver’s seat of a car when he was allegedly shot by the teenagers, who fled on foot.

Authorities said they believe the victim knew at least one of the suspects.

A motive, possibly robbery, is still under investigation.

The names of the suspects were not released, due to their ages. One was arrested on the 400 block of East 49th Street and the other on the 1100 block of Tehachapi Drive. Both arrests were made in Long Beach.

Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for filing consideration this week, according to a Jan. 27 press release from the Long Beach Police Department.
