The president’s plans to reduce government waste and cut costs are being challenged by nearly two dozen states.

Elon Musk, a man absent from the proceedings, was a major focus—but possible solutions to waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid were addressed too.

‘We have to make our government smaller, more efficient, more effective and less expensive,’ the president said.

‘We have contracts upon contracts that we can send and provide this information to you,’ the White House press secretary said.

The agency cannot see or use information from more than a dozen internal databases related to student finance until next Monday.

Mike Johnson’s comments run counter to claims made by some Democratic lawmakers who accuse the organization of illegally proposing cuts to federal agencies.

The White House is attempting to shake up the federal workforce.

The union members view the Trump administration’s efforts to shrink the government as an attack on civil servants.

‘The stuff we’re doing with the Treasury Department is so basic that you can’t believe it doesn’t exist already,’ Musk said.

DOGE has also canceled 29 contracts related to DEI training in education totaling $101 million.

Many cuts have been made at the Department of Education, according to a list of DOGE actions provided by the White House.

Musk said he wants ‘common sense controls’ applied to government.
