The most expensive piece of real estate ever sold in California was purchased by Beyoncé and Jay-Z in Malibu last week for $200 million, according to TMZ.

Per TMZ, the couple’s purchase was actually a deal since the home was originally listed for $295 million.

The 30,000-square-foot home on 8 acres is made of concrete and has a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean on a bluff near Paradise Cove, according to TMZ.

The house was designed by Japanese master architect, Tadao Ando, who is reportedly currently designing a home for Kanye West, also in Malibu.

The couple previously purchased a Bel-Air mansion in Los Angeles in 2017 for $88 million.

Their new home is the second most expensive piece of property sold in the United States, $38 million less than a Manhattan penthouse apartment sold to billionaire Ken Griffin—an entrepreneur and investor.

According to TMZ, the previous record for a California sale was for an oceanfront estate in Malibu purchased in 2021 for $177 million by fashion leader Serge Azria.

Both buyers and sellers in the latest Beyonce and Jay-Z transaction were represented by celebrity realtor Kurt Rappaport, according to TMZ.
