The Space Shuttle Atlantis launched on Friday, marking the final shuttle mission into outer space.
Atlantis was originally scheduled to land on July 20 but will now have its stay in space extended for one more day, the space agency said on Monday. It will land at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on July 21.
Crew of the Atlantis on Sunday unpacked their cargo at the International Space Station, including the Raffaello module, which contains spare parts and supplies like food needed for the crew.
A month ago, the Space Shuttle Endeavour made its final trip into outer space. Atlantis’ trip will mark the last mission for the 30-year-long space shuttle program.
