GWACHEON, South Korea—The Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company performed its second show at the Gwacheon Citizen Hall in South Korea, Feb, 12.
At the end of the show, Jong-Won Choi, a renowned Korean actor and former MP, said that throughout the performance “I have been awestruck, feeling as if I were in the heaven to have a bird’s eye view of the secular world.”
“I feel the elegant Chinese culture and its arts are going to be reborn from Shen Yun,” he said.
Aiming to revive traditional Chinese culture, Shen Yun tours the world, earning praise from worldwide celebrities.
Jong-Won Choi was full of praise for Shen Yun, which touched all aspects of his mind. He noted how each performer paid complete attention to their performance: each single moment as beautiful as summer flowers. He described their performance as a delight to see, yet also very mysterious.
“To be brief, I have a feeling of great mystery and novelty,” he said. “With the backdrop scenes, I feel as if I were somewhere in the heaven, having a bird’s eye view of the changes in the human world.”
He also admired backdrop scenes of magnificent palaces, the expansive Yellow River, and the refreshing village of the Yao people, one of the ethnic minority groups in China. He was impressed with the perfect integration of backdrop scenes with the dances.
Shen Yun Dance Awakens Old Memories
Attracted by its beautiful melody, Jong-Won Choi found the Shen Yun orchestra marvelous. As for the dance, he said: “The dance programs, with their profound cultural elements, touched me naturally. When seeing the dance, I feel familiar feelings as if I had known it and then forgotten it temporarily. My heart pounds as if old memories are being dug up from the depth of my mind”
As for terms mentioned in lyrics, like sentient beings, deities, and Creator of the Earth, he felt as if he were in the heaven to see the human world, feeling touched from the bottom of his heart. “I wonder if Shen Yun owns the power to upgrade the life level of any human being?” he asked.
Shen Yun Is Marvelous
“Truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance as the traditional value of the Eastern, is very well blended into the performance. The overall coordination is perfect,” said Bu-lam Choi, who’s also known as South Korea’s “Father.”
As South Korea ’s top entertainer and a former congressman, Choi has won several major awards in the entertainment circle. He praised Shen Yun for being a “marvelous product. I felt the spirit of meditation, Buddha school, and the courage to fight [for the Truth].”
Seeing the performance, he said: “We are so inspired by the mediation of becoming one with the divine.”
“[Shen Yun] soothes the soul in the deep core,” he added.
Bu-lam Choi was once elected as a congressman. He was conferred an honorary doctorate of culture from Hunan University in Korea, and won several major prizes of acting in the entertainment field of South Korea.
