LONDON, United Kingdom—The actions of a country like China impact the world. Marie Rimmer is the MP of St. Helens. She shared her appreciation for Shen Yun Performing Arts after seeing the performance at Eventim Apollo.
“It was a wonderful show, the drama, the artwork and the music, the dancing, the color, and everything was wonderful. But most of all, it told a story, the story of China,” said Ms. Rimmer.
“I’ve been involved with the forced organ harvesting and also have spoken about the oppression of Falun Gong, peaceful people. And those stories were told so beautifully, it really does tell the story of China,” said Ms. Rimmer.
China has a history and culture of five millennia, but unfortunately, the Chinese Communist Party destroyed much of that culture when it took power.
“I just feel so sad for the Chinese people that have lost so much. And I just pray that someday, [they] get the peace that they deserve and they’re allowed to practice their faith and live their lives the way they want to do—they’re a very gentle, loving, artistic people,” shared Ms. Rimmer.
Shen Yun’s artists are trained in classical Chinese dance. This dance style is where elements in popular sports such as gymnastics and acrobatics originated from.
“It’s got the wow factor. It’s just unbelievable. The dancing is just acrobatic, isn’t it? It’s just wonderful, the dancing, the fitness and energy,” said Ms. Rimmer.
