A Chinese man fell to his death after two police officers pushed him out of the window of his home. He was trying to stop them from confiscating his personal belongings and spiritual books.
Yin Zhibo, 44, from Yanji City, Jilin Province, was at home when the officers broke in. Someone had reported him to the police for distributing informational materials exposing the Chinese regime’s persecution of Falun Gong.
Though Yin died on March 16, 2021, his death was only recently confirmed by Minghui.org, a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that reports on the ongoing persecution of the Falun Gong spiritual system in China. Given the regime’s tight control, it isn’t easy to get information out of China
As Yin attempted to stop the police officers from confiscating his Falun Gong books and materials, they beat and shoved him to the window, eventually pushing him out. Yin fell to the ground and died instantly, according to the report.
Yin’s wife and son were present at the scene. His wife fainted several times witnessing his tragic death, while his young son rushed downstairs and leaned on his body, trying to wake him up.
According to the report, the Yanji City police department ignored the testimonies of neighbors who witnessed the entire incident, and exempted the two officers.
Yin’s older brother went to the local government to appeal, but the village officials harassed him and threatened to confiscate his family land. The police also detained Yin’s nephew for 15 days, suspecting that he might also be a Falun Gong practitioner.
According to Minghui.org, there have been several cases of Falun Gong adherents who died after falling out of windows; they either fell while trying to avoid being arrested and tortured, or after being pushed out of windows by the on-duty officials.
