In order to keep their kids happy, parents these days are willing to go to great lengths. From getting all muddy in their backyard to dancing on a jampacked highway, one can bet that they have more than one trick up their sleeves.

A Colorado mom became a viral sensation after she posted a video of herself dancing on the interstate highway between Denver and Colorado Springs. The video shows her grooving to the music of Backstreet Boys, a band that was popular in the 1990s.

Now why would a mom go all out of her way and do something that her son would consider “embarrassing”? It was because she and her son were stuck in a traffic jam for over four hours.

“We had been sitting for 4.5 hours in what looked like a zombie apocalypse on I-25 between Denver and Colorado Springs,” Wendy Chupp Gossett told KCNC. “Worst back up in I-25 history!”
According to Fox 8, Gossett said that her son, like any teen, was feeling “totally stressed” and really hungry.
She also mentioned that they were “moving in the opposite direction of where we wanted to go.”

During that time, the radio in the car started playing the song “Everybody,” and Gossett thought it would be a good idea to dance and brighten up the mood.

The now-viral video shows the mom getting out of the car and dancing between other vehicles.

Though none of the other commuters joined her in the dance, they surely would have enjoyed the impromptu performance that day.

“I was trying to get a real life La La Land!” Gossett told CBS4.
“This is what happens when you’re stuck for four hours on I-25,” Gossett wrote on Facebook.

However, her son, Nathan, doesn’t seem to be impressed one bit. He is seen covering his ears and cringing with embarrassment. Finally, Nathan lets out a brief smirk and the show ends with his mom saying, “Honey, this is the Backstreet Boys.”

The Colorado mom managed to catch the attention of so many on social media, and the fact that even a couple of the Backstreet Boys commented on her post was probably the icing on the cake.

Nick Carter tweeted, “OMG!! Get back in your car lol. Ps. Nice jam.”
Kevin Richardson replied, “I love it! Mom knows what’s up... Alright!”

This story has also been shared by many media outlets.

“Didn’t intend for a moment between my kids and I to go viral! Sometimes the worst scenarios can end up as the “stickiest” memories so it is best to attach a positive memory to them!” Gossett wrote.

The memory of being stuck in traffic is never a pleasant one. But in this case, one would agree that this mom created a memory that would never be forgotten.

Gossett took to Facebook again to share that after five hours, she and her kids safely made it to the Village Inn in Monument that day, where they spent the night.
