Neither do we, and here’s proof.
Country music singer Luke Bryan has a soft spot for animals. Along with his wife, Caroline, the Bryans’ Tennessee farm is home to a menagerie: dogs, cats, chickens, goats, and many more besides.
And it seems that Bryan has added to the family after falling in love with a senior dog he saw on social media.
Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue in Nashville, Tennessee, was caring for an 18-year-old dog named Poochie, who had been living in a temporary foster home for some time after his original owner surrendered him to a shelter.
Given his age, Lavonne and the rest of the shelter staff were convinced that Poochie would spend the rest of his days in the shelter environment. The shelter would be able to provide all of his needs through the care of a fosterer, of course, but nobody held out any hope for an adoption. Older dogs are often overlooked.
So, it stands to reason that staff were taken by surprise when the Bryans expressed interest. Delighted staff received their adoption application with “impeccable” references, and rushed to proceed.
What a result for Poochie!
“We are so thrilled,” said shelter staff. With such great references and a beautiful farm as testament to their dedication to animals, the shelter knew that Poochie would be in the very best care for his remaining years with the Bryans.
And what fun-filled years they promise to be now.

“Who knows,” said the optimistic shelter founder, “maybe Poochie will inspire a country song!”
