Have you ever seen markings on animals that resemble them? Here’s one chestnut foal born with the most perfect white silhouette on his back—it made him look like a horse within another horse.

The handsome foal’s unusual white horse-shaped marking runs from his left front leg and up to his mane. The marking on his mane is such a beautiful work of art that he was given a fitting name—Da Vinci.

Called Vinny for short, this foal was born on May 27, 2015, at the Fyling Hall School’s stables in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

The school’s riding instructor, Wendy Bulmer, had bought his mother—a pretty chestnut mare named Katie—at a local horse sale in September 2014. She purchased Katie for the children to ride on.

Bulmer had no idea that Katie was pregnant until after winter when she noticed the mare was rather fat. And on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, Katie finally gave birth to a gorgeous foal.

“It’s a boy! At 5am on the 27th of May we welcomed the newest member of the Fyling Hall family. He is lively and large and is already keeping our riding mistress, Wendy Bulmer, on her toes!” read a blog post published on the Fyling Hall School website.
“There is no way to identify who the father is but he must have had a lot of quality because Da Vinci is such a fine boy. He is the most adorable colored foal with exceptional markings," Bulmer said in another blog post.
Getting more than what she bargained for, it was “a bit of a surprise” for Bulmer. “I wasn’t very happy at first but he is so friendly and the kids love him,” she said, according to MailOnline.
He's even got a little white heart shape on his bottom as well.

“The chestnut horses have irregular patches but they don’t normally make something as recognizable,” she said. ”He’s even got a little white heart shape on his bottom as well.”

It goes without saying but Da Vinci has become famous because of his one-of-a-kind markings.

He drew Fyling Hall pupils to the school stables, which “have suddenly become the most popular place to be!” And his story has been featured in the Daily Mail and The Mirror newspapers, to name a few, as well as on international websites and in social media. Wow ... he is famous!
Other than Da Vinci’s outer appearance, the foal easily stands out from the other horses in the stables because of his personality. He is cheeky and has an adventurous spirit, METRO reported.

On top of that, the friendly foal likes to interact with school children. With Da Vinci around, the children have “a fantastic opportunity” to learn all about a foal and a mare, and have firsthand experience in handling and caring for young horses.

“The children have been very excited and come to visit and play with him at every possible opportunity. This is good for them and also good for the foal as it is making him into a very kind and sociable animal,” Bulmer said.

Da Vinci’s white birthmark looks truly majestic. We wonder whether the other horses in the stables get jealous of him!
