Not a single car noticed the trembling, frozen fur ball on the side of the road struggling in the heavy snow. Thankfully, one kindhearted young man saw the freezing feline and stopped to grab her. Having escaped the ice and snow, this kitty now has a new home!

On a freezing-cold day, Slava was driving along a wintry road when he noticed something furry on the roadside. Realizing this was in fact some kind of animal, he made a quick decision to turn back to save the poor soul.
“I thought it was an animal and it must be freezing in this weather,” Slava told Love Meow.
When he pulled over and approached the frozen fur ball, it could barely move. Weak though it was, it was still so scared that it tried to leap for a nearby tree to hide. Slava walked over and discovered that it was a kitten covered in frost and snow.

“It was very cold, so I wrapped her up in a towel and brought her back to my car. I turned up the heat to full capacity to help remove the frost on her coat,” said Slava.

The young man drove the kitten to his father’s house to warm her up. There, they prepared a warm bed for her, wrapped her with a few blankets, and placed a radiator nearby to warm her up.

Having realized by then that the human was friendly, she showed her appreciation by rubbing up against her rescuer.

“I think that the kitten got lost and ended up in a field with a few trees and she couldn’t find the exit due to heavy snow and did not have the strength to move,” Slava said.

After the kitten had warmed up, Slava took her to get examined. The little kitten, whom he named Nika, was just 6 months old. Unfortunately, her tail had been frostbitten so badly it had to be amputated. Nika nevertheless bounced back with resilience, and ended up making a full recovery.

“She knew that we were trying to help. She was patient, did not complain and was very sweet the whole time,” said Slava.

After half a month, Nika was back up to full strength, and she is now an energetic and playful young cat.
“She is an active cat who likes to play and run,” said Slava.

Thanks to her hero, who took a moment out of his day to save a small life, little Nika escaped a grim, wintry fate and ended up gaining a comfortable, happy home.
