The lawyer for Dr. Christine Ford, the woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were both high school students in the ‘80s, was present at a so-called Resist rally in 2017.
Debra Katz, the main lawyer for Dr. Ford, attended the rally, which was promoted as protesting against President Donald Trump. Groups and individuals against him often use the word “resist.”
Katz was interviewed by ABC at the rally, which took place in February 2017 after Jeff Sessions was confirmed to the post of attorney general.
Committed to Resistance
Katz spoke about her anti-Trump sentiment recently, telling The Gargoyle, an alumni magazine for the University of Wisconsin Law School, in August that she’s committed to being part of the so-called resistance.“When I go to a march on behalf of Dreamers, I hear young people making connections between DACA and Islamophobia,” Katz told the magazine. “I hope that energy continues, to retake our democracy that is truly at risk now.”
Seidman also worked as the communications director for Joe Biden in 2008.
Broaddrick Offers to Testify
As Dr. Ford delays confirming whether or not she'll testify at a public hearing scheduled for Monday, Sept. 24, Juanita Broaddrick has come forward and offered to testify.Broaddrick claims former President Bill Clinton raped her in 1991.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) decried the treatment of Dr. Ford on Twitter later Friday, saying: “That this brave woman is receiving death threats and has been forced to flee with her family is appalling and heartbreaking. This abuse must stop. We’re better than this.”
She also called for a reopening of the background investigation into Kavanaugh by the FBI, even though the FBI has already stated it won’t investigate Dr. Ford’s allegation.
Responding to Feinstein, Broaddrick wrote on Twitter that she remembered Feinstein refusing to read her deposition brought forward in 1999, eight years after the alleged rape by Clinton occurred. “I had first-hand knowledge, along with 5 witnesses - 8 YEARS later in 1999. YOU @SenFeinstein refused to read the evidence in my record. You are such a hypocrite!” she said.
Broaddrick added: “Just a thought ... If Christine Ford declines to be interviewed Monday ... I’m available to answer questions about my Rape by Bill Clinton.”
