The judge overseeing the case against alleged Paul Pelosi attack suspect David DePape revealed last week that she worked with Christine Pelosi, the daughter of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Paul Pelosi.

Judge Loretta “Lori” Giorgi said she and the younger Pelosi, who has worked as a Democrat activist and has never held elected office, worked together in the San Francisco City Attorney’s office in the 1990s. The pair have not interacted with one another in years, Giorgi said.

Christine Pelosi is one of Nancy and Paul Pelosi’s five children.

“I do want to make a disclosure on the record that the daughter of Mr. Pelosi, Christine Pelosi, and I were in the city attorney’s office together in the 90s,” Giorgi told the court, according to local media affiliate ABC7. “And I have disclosed to counsel the interactions that I had when she and I were together. I haven’t seen or heard or talked to Ms. Pelosi after she left the office. I do see her here today.”
No one objected to Giorgie’s ties with the Pelosi family during the hearing on Nov. 4. ABC7 reporters in the courtroom also said that Christine Pelosi, who some analysts say might attempt to seek election in her mother’s congressional district when she retires, attended the hearing but later left through a back door.
The Epoch Times has contacted the city attorney’s office for comment. According to public records, Giorgi worked in the San Francisco city attorney’s office from 1985 until 2006; she was elected as a judge of the Superior Court of San Francisco in 2006.

Giorgi worked in the city attorney’s office from 1985 to 2006, when she was appointed to the bench. She rose to the rank of deputy city attorney and was the office’s public integrity chief.

“At this point we will be determining what witnesses we need to call. Whether we call a victim or the 911 dispatcher. Whether we present certain evidence,” said Brooke Jenkins, San Francisco’s District Attorney, to the court, adding that her office has significant evidence against DePape, 42, to take him to trial. That includes body camera footage of the alleged attack and the 911 call from the Pelosi home.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), meanwhile, confirmed to The Epoch Times that DePape was an illegal immigrant from Canada. After entering the United States on a visa in the year 2000, DePape was able to leave the United States and returned multiple times, officials told media outlets last week.

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an immigration detainer on Canadian national David DePape with San Francisco County Jail, Nov. 1, following his Oct. 28 arrest,” DHS told The Epoch Times.

A Canadian government spokesperson told The Epoch Times that officials “are engaging with local authorities” in the United States and declined to provide more information.

Prosecutors allege DePape broke into the Pelosi San Francisco home in late October before he approached Paul Pelosi, asking him where he was. Pelosi then called police from a phone in his bathroom, and when officers arrived, they saw Pelosi and DePape with their hand on the same hammer before DePape allegedly hit the elderly man in the head.

In a CNN interview last week, Jenkins said that she will work to limit access to the body camera footage, 911 calls, and other evidence in the case.

“For us, revealing that evidence through the media is just not what we think is appropriate,” Jenkins told the network. “We want to make sure that this individual is held accountable for these egregious acts,” she also said. “For us, we’re going to make sure that we limit the evidence as much as possible in order to get that done.”

While Democrat officials say the attack was politically motivated, neighbors revealed that DePape has long been associated with left-wing individuals and had several children with a local nudist activist known as Oxane “Gypsy” Taub.
