Gretchen Mol recently announced that she is having a second child, according to People magazine.
The 38-year-old Boardwalk Empire actress and her husband Kip Williams made the announcement on Monday. The baby is due next February.
“I’m just enjoying this time. We’re not shooting now so I’m having a baby and then we’ll start shooting again, which is great,” she told the magazine.
Mol plays Gillian Darmody, mother of gangster Jimmy Darmody, on Empire. She recently took time off from the HBO series, based on the story of political and crime boss Enoch “Nucky” Johnson.
“It’s really lovely to know I have a job coming and there’s this little time and I can really enjoy it instead of feeling [stressed],” she said to People.
Mol met Williams, Paranormal Activity 2 director, in 2004. The two are parents to a three-year-old boy named Ptolemy John, according to the Internet Movie Database.
The Notorious Bettie Page actress told the now-defunct Cookie magazine last year that “you bring who you are to motherhood. If you’re a chaotic person, you’ll be a chaotic mother.”
“I’m the same kind of person as a mother that I am in life: I try to be considerate; I like order. So what if I have toys stuck in my pockets? I’ll never be the mother who makes parenting look effortless. But I wouldn’t trade my life, either.”
