The guru of the zero waste movement is warning that, despite some strides in the right direction, Canadian cities are not doing enough to reduce their garbage. “Zero waste is catching on, but Canada has been a major disappointment,” says Paul Connett, a former environmental chemistry professor from the United Kingdom who crusades against large landfills and waste incinerators.
