NEW YORK—Madison Square Garden was rocking on Tuesday night from the incredible goaltending performances by the New Jersey Devils’ Martin Brodeur and New York Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist.
The New Jersey Devils, once again, fell to the Carolina Hurricanes’ late game magic as the visitors got two goals with under 90 seconds remaining in the game to win Game 7 4—3.
Heading into Sunday night’s Eastern Conference quarterfinal with the Carolina Hurricanes, the Devils have had an anemic 0—5 record against the ‘Canes in overtime games, including their loss on Friday night.
Now that the NHL regular season concluded on Sunday, two local teams, the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers, will gear up for the first-round Eastern Conference playoffs.
The New Jersey Devils skated into Madison Square Garden Monday night in hopes of erasing their four-game losing streak. The Rangers were similarly trying to get out of a two-game slump.
