The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the official organization that brings us the Oscars, announced that they have chosen comedian-entertainer Chris Rock to host next year’s show.

“I know, what am I doing here?” he joked before breaking into song complete with a sparkling black suit and back-up dancers in white feathers.

With the screenplay of “Gone Girl” written by Gillian Flynn, herself the author of the 2012 best-selling novel, and in the gifted hands of director David Fincher, the viewer is in for an engrossing, two-and-a-half-hour, swiftly passing ride.
