The New York Mets announced retired closer John Franco will be inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame on June 3, prior to the 1:10 p.m. game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Mets are making good use of their $40 million loan, signing free agent, right-handed relief pitcher Frank Francisco to a two-year deal, according to a press release from the Mets.
With Jose Reyes taking his talents to South Beach (though not in the same fashion as LeBron James) the Mets clearly have a gap to fill between third and second.
The 2012 season will mark the 50th anniversary for the New York Mets and on Wednesday they unveiled their plans for the season-long celebration, including a new logo to go with their new uniforms.
