The Curiosity rover may have located a rare meteorite composed of iron and nickel on Mars.

NASA’s Curiosity rover has been exploring the surface of Mars since 2012, and it recently came upon an interesting find. A news release by Arizona State University reports that an on-board device captured a two-frame portrait of a small meteorite dubbed “Egg Rock.”

The 4.4 billion-year-old meteorite is like nothing ever discovered on Earth and gives researchers insight into the makeup of the Red Planet’s surface.
