The New York Mets have announced that they have shut down starting pitcher Johan Santana for the remainder of the season.

Ike Davis singled home David Wright in the top of the 11th to break a 5–5 tie and Mets reliever Ramon Ramirez shut down the Rockies (10–11) in the bottom half of the inning to preserve the win for New York (13–9) in the rubber match of the three-game set.

Mets pitcher Johan Santana remains on-target to start on Opening Day this season after throwing 31 pitches Sunday in a simulated game, according to a report on the team’s website.
