Both CD-3 special election candidates filed financial summaries with the Federal Election Commission.

Mr. Suozzi, a moderate, served in the House from 2017 to 2023.

Republicans and Democrats have both gained and lost ground in New York’s 3rd Congressional District over several election cycles.

Mr. Santos joined five others to be expelled by the House of Representatives.

For just the sixth time in its 234-year-old history, the House of Representatives expelled a member.
