The chief of a much-vaunted free trade zone established in Shanghai has been ejected from his post.

The Shanghai Free Trade Zone will either end in the Chinese regime pulling the plug on the experiment or in other cities or regions seeking economic or even political independence.

Although the Shanghai Free Trade Zone has been heavily promoted as a beacon for initiating economic reform, it has nothing to do with any kind of economic reform—it is merely a utopian experiment.
