The CFTC has denied a proposal by derivative exchange Kalshi to offer contracts allowing people to bet on the outcome of congressional elections.

Online prediction market Intrade shut down operations March 11. The company based in Ireland cited financial irregularities which prompted an investigation according to Irish law. Intrade settled all open trades and froze all company accounts until further notice.
