Former Liberal Party staffer Bruce Lehrmann, found in a civil court to have raped Brittany Higgins, appeared today over allegations he raped another woman.

A judge criticised Ten for failing to look into other claims by Ms. Higgins, including that she was pressured into remaining silent about what happened.

Lisa Wilkinson was ‘eager to assist’ Brittany Higgins ‘for personal reasons and ignored that the story was ’fraught with danger', Justice Lee said.

Both Bruce Lehrmann and Brittany Higgins lied in evidence, Justice Lee has found, but Higgins’ account of events was more believable than Lehrmann’s.

The judge said his findings were to a civil standard of proof—and not a criminal one.

The federal government made the decision purely on the basis of her testimony alone.

Lehrmann to continue action against Channel 10 and Lisa Wilkinson.

In our believe-the-victim culture, it seems that truth counts for very little.

Mr. Lehrmann has applied for his name to be suppressed but the application was rejected.

Lisa Wilkinson expected her employer to cover her legal bill for over $700,000, but claims Network 10 backed out.
