On Monday, May 13, 2019, Tori and Zach Roloff of TLC’s Little People, Big World made a huge announcement on social media. It’s an announcement that fans have been waiting for since little Jackson came into the world in 2017; the toddler celebrated his second birthday on Mother’s Day. What’s the Roloff’s announcement? You guessed it! Of course, they’re expecting baby number two!
Soon-to-be big brother Jackson will become a very willing role model for the Roloff’s baby girl, and the trio can’t wait.
“Zachary and I are so excited to announce that Jackson is going to be a big brother!” Tori wrote on
Instagram. “We are expecting a sweet baby girl this November!” the delighted mom-to-be shared with friends, family, and fans. “Thank you so much for always supporting our family and loving us!” Tori’s accompanying photo is pregnancy-reveal perfection; little Jackson sits in front of his parents, beaming from ear to ear, holding a pair of oversized balloons and sporting an adorable baseball tee with the words “big brother” printed proudly on the front.
Zach added his voice in a
post of his own. “Yay!!“ he wrote, his double exclamation marks saying almost everything we needed to know. ”Tori and I are excited to announce that Jackson is going to be a big brother to a little sister!!” Zach’s chosen photo depicts his handsome little son stood atop a tree trunk with both fists raised triumphantly in the air.
Clearly, the focus is all about Jackson’s impending role as a brilliant big brother, and we’re loving it!
People responded with overwhelming enthusiasm for the happy, growing family. “Congratulations, so excited for you all ... Jackson is going to be such a great big brother to his sister,” wrote one happy fan. “We love watching your family grow. You’re both wonderful parents, congratulations!” shared another.
Zach shot to fame on TLC’s reality television series Little People, Big World back in 2006. The show features the lives of the six-member Roloff family farm near Portland, Oregon, and viewers were hooked immediately; the show has run for 14 seasons and counting. Tori originally entered the show as Zach’s real-life girlfriend, and the couple married in 2015.
According to
People, Tori and Zach’s now-2-year-old son Jackson spent a fabulous second birthday surrounded by family and friends. The party was
Zootopia-themed (that’s a 2016 animated Disney movie, who those who aren’t in the know!), and the doting mom even made the birthday cake herself. Little Jackson was even gracious enough to share his big day with his grandmother, Amy Roloff. It was Mother’s Day, after all.
In preparation for baby number two, it seems the couple are feeling confident after treading the early years parenting boards once already. “I grew up with the name-calling. You have to encourage a dwarf child a little more,” Zach shared, speaking to
People soon after Jackson’s birth about the differences of parenting a child with dwarfism. “It will take them five steps to do what others can do in two. But I knew, dwarf or not,” he continued, “I was going to parent my child with the mentality that not everyone gets a trophy. You have to earn it.”
But the world is changing, Zach continued, and that gives this stoic, happy family a plethora of hope for the future. “People are more open to diversity,” he added. And by employing some very sensible parenting values and expanding their inspiring family, the Roloffs are only making things better.
Congratulations, Tori and Zach!
