Gifting us with some of the most iconic one-liners in cinematic history, Gone With the Wind is, by now, a household name.

A petulant Southern belle, not one but two leading men, and a torturous, tangled love affair against the backdrop of the American Civil War. Who could resist?

If you’ve never seen the movie (and if not, shame on you!) then this is your opportunity to see the beloved classic on the big screen. The movie celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, and industry giant Warner Bros. has teamed up with Fathom Events to bring the epic tale to movie theaters for two days only.

Screenings will take place on Thursday, Feb. 28 and Sunday, March 3, at 1:00 p.m. and again at 6:00 p.m. For participating venues, visit the Fathom Events website.

The 1939 epic received eight Oscars in its heyday, two honorary Academy Awards, and widespread praise from the industry and movie-goers alike.

For those who don’t know (and a chance to daydream for those who do), the film tells the story of Scarlett O’Hara, played by the beautiful Vivien Leigh, a tenacious Southern girl with her sights set on the man of her dreams. The man in question is Ashley Wilkes, played by heartthrob Leslie Howard. Alongside her quest for romance, Scarlett battles to preserve her precious family plantation.

But it wouldn’t be an epic without the added complications of another man, now, would it? Rhett Butler, played by the infamous Clark Gable, shows up, a man-about-town with a soft spot for Scarlett. It is Rhett’s aim to prove his virtue and win Scarlett’s love.

Gone with the Wind is so iconic that its storyline and characters have been explicitly referenced and satirized for decades, on television, in film, and across all manner of popular media.

In 1990, the United States Postal Service even issued a stamp featuring an image of Scarlett and Rhett (spoiler alert!) locked in an embrace; a memorable and much-loved scene from the film.

“I can’t go all my life waiting to catch you between husbands!” Rhett bellows to Scarlett, in exasperation. And likewise, don’t you spend your life waiting for another opportunity to enjoy this epic historical romance. Get yourself to the movie theater, and relive a classic experience!

Tickets for the film’s celebratory return, marking the 80th anniversary of its release, can be purchased from the Fathom Events website or at participating theater box offices.
