Daughter of Comatose ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Star Beth Chapman Gives an Update

The daughter of a popular American reality television series actor has revealed the star’s condition after she was placed in a coma on June 23.

Bonnie Chapman recently returned from Hawaii where she visited her mother, ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ Bail Bondswoman Beth Chapman, who is still in a medically induced coma at the intensive care unit of Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.

“I can say she’s getting good care,” Bonnie said in a social media post with a photo of medical equipment that has since been removed from Instagram. “There’s not much of an update I can give ... I know you guys wanted more but y’know it’s a coma, much [sic] much can be updated.”

Beth, 51, was diagnosed with lung cancer in September 2017 and it was confirmed in November 2018 that the cancer had returned despite surgery. She was hospitalized in April 2019 due to fluid build up in her lungs and had a procedure to relieve pressure.

After her cancer relapsed, Beth used social media to express her determination to make a full recovery.

“Another bend in the road yet not the end of the road,” the mother said on Instagram.

Only immediate family have been given access to her, a spokesperson from the family told the Associated Press (AP).

Bonnie returned home on a flight from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport on June 23.

“‏On a flight home,” Bonnie said on Twitter.

Bonnie promised to keep her Instagram fans regularly posted on her mother’s condition.

“I give updates when I can, 4.5 hours until I can do so,” she said on Instagram.

She asked her fans to keep praying for her mother.

“‏Please continue to pray for my mom,” Bonnie said on Twitter.

Bonnie’s father and American bounty hunter Duane Chapman echoed his daughter’s plea for fans to pray for Beth’s speedy recovery.

‏“Please say your prayers for Beth right now, thank you, love you,” Duane said on Twitter.

The rest of the family also pleaded in a statement obtained by AP for the general public to “pray for Beth,” while at the same time sending “sincere thanks to everyone for their prayers throughout Beth’s battle with cancer.”

Both Chapmans recently starred in ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ and recently appeared in a spin-off reality TV series called ‘Dog & Beth: On the Hunt.’ Both TV shows were filmed in Hawaii. The couple is set to return on television broadcaster WGN America in October of 2019 for their newest series ‘Dog’s Most Wanted.’

WGN America and ‘Dog’s Most Wanted’ staff expressed their thoughts and prayers to the family.

“We’ve come to know Beth as a strong, powerful fighter and we have hope that she will recover soon to rejoin her beloved family,” WGN said on Facebook. “We ask you to do the same to see the Chapman family through this very difficult time.”

The couple’s Da Kine Bail Bonds office in Honolulu and a storefront for a ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ shop have been closed since January.
