Interim President Ahmed ​al-Sharaa has tasked the parliament with forming a committee to draft a new constitution.

The sentencing marks the latest conviction in eight trials involving the former president.

The Israeli military said IDF forces under its Southern Command are deployed in the area and ‘will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat.’

Ahmed Al-Sharaa has also formed ties with U.S. President Donald Trump, and last year, his government joined the U.S.-led coalition to fight ISIS.
