Toru Abo
Late professor of Immunology and Medical Zoology, School of Medicine and Dental Sciences, Niigata University, Japan, Toru Abo completed his research on “monoclonal antibodies against human NK cell antigen CD57”, while studying at University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1980. Throughout his career, he made many ground-breaking discoveries including “extrathymic differentiated T cells” in 1989, and “autonomic nervous system control of white blood cell structure” in 1996. Prof. Abo was a world-renowned immunologist.
