In “Interstellar,” Christopher Nolan isn’t just taking audiences to outer space. He’s also sending a couple of robots along for the ride—and they’re just not on board to sweep the floors.
At one point during “Fury,” the World War II drama starring Brad Pitt, a tank commander’s head is blown off while he’s hunched outside his vehicle during a fiery battle with a combatant. “Fury” writer-director David Ayer insists he didn’t include the surprise decapitation simply to shock moviegoers.
“Gone Girl,” the Fox thriller starring Ben Affleck as a man whose wife goes missing overcame “Annabelle,” the Warner Bros. possessed-doll horror movie. “Gone Girl” opened with a $38 million debut, according to studio estimates Sunday.
