Adrianne Palicki, the Friday Night Lights actress, will star in the title role for the upcoming television show Wonder Woman, based on the DC Comics superhero, DC’s website said on Thursday.
The show, directed by David E. Kelley, will air as a pilot on NBC.
Palicki will play the Amazon superhero, also known as Diana Prince, who fights crime in Los Angeles.
In the series, Prince will also be a “successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life,” according to DC Comics.
Linda Carter, who formerly played Wonder Woman, congratulated Palicki.
“Congratulations Adrianne!” Carter tweeted.
