Close to the Iraqi-Kurdistan border, Kurdish forces have made substantial gains against ISIS after numerous battles for control.
Included in those gains: the confiscation of ISIS extremist’s terrorist technology.
Kurdish officer Repaz Sharefi said they managed to recover a remote-controlled machine-gun-firing weapons system after a skirmish against ISIS in Iraq, according to Euronews.
With a video camera, jihadists could view the above-ground battlefield and fire on enemies while hidden in a bunker.
“It can be fired remotely and has been mounted onto a movable base, which is being operated from a position underground,” the Kurdish officer said.
He noted that many of the devices and weapons they have recovered indicate they were handmade locally.
