An anti-Occupy Central member was caught stabbing a pro-democracy supporter on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
At about 3:00 p.m. Hong Kong time, a group of middle-aged men showed up in Mong Kok, and immediately went to work dismantling barricades put up by the pro-democracy protesters.
Donning gloves and with cutting implements in hand, the group of men worked furiously to sever plastic cable ties connecting metal barriers and other scrap material, before shifting them away.
When Occupy Central protesters told one of the men, who looked to be of South Asian descent, from clearing the barricades, the man turned violent, slamming a wooden pallet into nearby protesters, and later, stabbing a protester in a red shirt with his snippers.
The incident was caught on video, and uploaded to the web.
The men who were clearing the barricades claimed that they did not belong to any group, but are merely Hongkongers and mainland Chinese who oppose Occupy Central.
It is unclear if the South Asian man is also a Chinese or Hong Kong citizen.
Netizens have made “wanted” posters telling people who have spotted the stabber to immediately make a police report about his whereabouts.
