Vida in Spanish means “life” and Castle Group Developments’ newest boutique condominium is all about living life to the fullest.
You feel it the moment you enter the sales office at Vida—a vibe that is unmistakable: colourful, original, energetic, exciting. Located in the prestigious, multi-million dollar Bayview Village neighbourhood, a short walk to the Sheppard subway line, Vida is a European-inspired condominium that is as much at home here as it would be on Yorkville Avenue.
Inspired by Castle Group president Mumtaz (Mona) Bhamani’s passion for architecture and style, Vida will be a shining example of her love for colour, design, and the thousands of little details that distinguish the ordinary from the extraordinary. She is a soft-spoken yet dynamic woman whose slight physique belies her stature as one of Toronto’s most successful developers.
We asked Bhamani about her choice of Bayview and Sheppard for Vida.
“We wanted to create a building for end-users, an enclave project that would fit into the neighbourhood,” she said.
“The community is very mature here. We wanted to do something that brought Yorkville into this area. Most of the buildings here are towers. Vida is very different. We wanted to build an intimate building; one that would meld seamlessly into the existing residential community.”
Vida is located close to the subway, across the street from the upscale Bayview Village Shopping Centre and is surrounded by every possible service and amenity—including the 24/7 YMCA. It is also just a subway stop away from North York General Hospital and close to a number of top-ranking schools.
Bhamani believes that investors will buy here for their children. “The building is especially attractive to people whose children will go to school here. With the location right on the subway, and secondary education so accessible, it is a sage investment. And priced from $199,000 to over $600,000 Vida is ultimately affordable.”
When she talks about the design of Vida, Bhamani’s eyes sparkle with passion.
“Vida’s unique three, six, and eight-storey steeped design forms a dramatic ”U“ shape with an arched entranceway and covered porte cochere that leads to a beautiful lobby lounge that is outfitted with WiFi. This creates a 5-star hotel sense of arrival. When our residents come home, they will experience luxury and privilege, each and every time,” she said.
Vida offers amenities that will keep maintenance fees low. There is a fully outfitted fitness centre and a very cool sports bar where residents can watch sporting events on TV and get together for pool and other games. A beautifully appointed guest suite will accommodate overnight guests in style. There is also a party room with kitchen as well as a large outdoor area with BBQs and stylish patio furnishings.
“Vida is the only project in the area that is spread over 1 ½ acres of land. It is a gated community that offers the ultimate in security and safety,” notes Nick Nanji, CEO of Castle Group.
Vida offers suites in studio, one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, two-bedroom, two plus den, and three-bedroom configurations from the mid 500 sq. ft. to over 1100 sq. ft. As well, every suite has a balcony or a terrace.
Vida has not officially opened yet. It is currently in the preview stage, and sales agency Baker Real Estate is presently contacting and making appointments for more than 1000 registrants.
