Actress Julianne Moore has been selected to portray former Alaska governor Sarah Palin in an upcoming film for HBO.

People Magazine reported that Moore will appear in a short film focused on the 2008 election race of John McCain.

No announcements have been made regarding who will be cast for the part of McCain, Hillary Clinton, or President Obama.

The film is based on the bestselling novel Game Change written by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin.

E! Online reported that Palin has yet to comment on the issue even though she is known for expressing her thoughts regularly on her Facebook and Twitter accounts. Some are left to wonder if she will wait for her next television interview to express her thoughts regarding Moore’s role in the film.

Moore has been nominated for four Oscars and six Golden Globes. She has also graced the cover of Vogue Magazine and has also written books for children.

Her most recent role was in 2010’s The Kids Are All Right and received a Golden Globe for best actress. The film also received rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival.

Palin has not officially stated that she will run for president in 2012 but her popularity could make her a front-runner for the Republican Party in the near future. Her book Going Rogue that was published in 2010 was a top-seller, selling more than one million copies.
