“Twilight: Breaking Dawn” to Cast Nine-Year-Old Mackenzie Foy as Renesmee

Twilight: Breaking Dawn will have a new cast member join its ranks, with the movie’s creators tapping nine-year-old Mackenzie Foy to play the role of half-human, half-vampire Renesmee, reports said this week.

The young actress is close to signing a deal with Summit Entertainment to play the daughter of Edward and Bella, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were catapulted to superstardom for the roles they play as vampire Edward and Bella, a human, who fall in love.

In the final two films, based on the novel “Twilight: Breaking Dawn” by Stephenie Mayer, the two lovers get married in Brazil and have a child. Reports say that the latest film will actually be shot in Brazil.

Foy’s character is a key role in the film and she will age 17 years in just seven.

The report said that digital effects used in films such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button may be used to create the aging effect. If it is used, Foy’s face would be digitally placed on the face of another body.

The first part of the finale will be released in theaters November 2011 and the very final film is slated for release in November 2012.

Filming will begin this November, EW noted.
