The Munsters, the classic monster-themed television series from the 1960s, is getting a remake, reports said on Thursday.
Bryan Fuller, who created ABC’s Pushing Daises, is working on remaking the black-and-white series for NBC, Entertainment Weekly reported.
NBC only requested a pilot of the series, but EW’s Michael Ausiello said he has a “good feeling” about the show, which is being described by NBC as “Modern Family meets True Blood.”
Pan’s Labrynth director Guillermo del Toro will reportedly be involved with production behind the scenes.
The Munsters was a comedy that ran from 1964 to 1966, featuring a family of creepy yet humorous monsters. The head of the family is Herman, a Frankenstein-esque monster, and his wife is a vampire, Lilly.
