Teen Choice Awards Closes to High-Pitched Cheers

The Teen Choice Awards were held in Lost Angeles on Sunday, Aug. 9, and aired on Fox. Winners included films “Twilight,” “High School Musical 3,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” and “Hanna Montana: The Movie”; television shows “Gossip Girl,” “American Idol,” and “Heroes”; and music stars Britney Spears, Beyonce, and Black Eyed Peas, among others.

Michael Jackson Coming to a Theater Near You

Permission has been granted for the production of a feature-length film featuring Michael Jackson’s most recent concert rehearsals and other footage. Michael Jackson was just weeks away from launching his “This Is It” tour when he died. Tour promoter AEG is now working with Columbia Pictures and Jackson’s estate to put together a partially 3-D picture for release in October.

‘King of the Hill’ Concluding an Impressive Run

Fox’s animated series “King of the Hill” will be wrapping up next month after 13 seasons on the air. The popular show featuring the family and friends of Texan Hank Hill was created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels. The series finale is scheduled to air on Sept. 13.

Broadway Play to Open With Big-Name Cast

The upcoming premiere of Donald Margulies’ play Time Stands Still will feature a star-studded cast, including Laura Linney, Alicia Silverstone, and current “Shrek the Musical” star Brian d’Arcy James. More cast announcements are expected in the coming weeks. The production is scheduled to open in January at Manhattan Theatre Club.
