Steve Martin baby: Comedian Steve Martin recently talked about his new baby on the “Late Show with David Letterman,” joking about potential names.
“It’s going great because I have a wonderful wife and mother,” Martin said on the show. He continued, “I’m paying her a compliment -- everything is funny when I try to be serious!”
“We’ve thought about the name quite a bit. Conquistador. What do you think? I didn’t want to go with one of those Hollywood weird names,” he quipped.
The child is Martin’s first, welcoming the child with his wife, Anne Sinclair, around two months ago.
On the show, he pulled out a baby monitor and placed it on Letterman’s desk. Fake sounds of a baby, dogs, a banjo, and a truck are heard on the monitor.
“The baby’s back at the hotel,” he said and added that he’s “a responsible dad.”
