Liam Neeson won’t hesitate to reprise his role role as Obi-Wan Kenobi’s master if he’s given the chance.
In an interview with HeyUGuys, Neeson said that he wasn’t asked to play a role in direct J.J. Abrams’ new Star Wars movie, but if he was given a shot, he “most certainly would” grab the opportunity to play Qui-Gon Jinn again.
“I certainly don’t want anyone else playing [Qui-Gon Jinn],” Neeson added.
“I don’t know what the current story now, at all.
“I think it’s Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, it’s [their] characters’ generation.
“I came way, way before that,” Neeson added.
Other than being Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn/Liam Neeson is best remembered in the Star Wars universe as having “discovered” the “Chosen One” — a young Anakin Skywalker — as well as being killed by Darth Maul, the first Sith lord to make an appearance in many years.
Cast wise, Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Kenny Baker (R2-D2) will reprise their original trilogy roles in Episode VII.
Adam Driver, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, and now Miltos Yerolemou are the fresh-faces to the Star Wars series.
Star Wars: Episode VII will be released in cinemas on December 18, 2015.
